CELTIC, Lower Danube. Imitations of Thasos. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35 mm, 15.90 g, 12 h). Celticized head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy-wreath. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing facing, holding club and lion skin; to inner left, M; imitative legend. Dembski 1522. Lanz 970-972. Nicely toned. Scrape on the obverse and flan slightly bent, otherwise, very fine.
